First edition, first printing. Published by Collins Crime Club in London, 1968. This is a very good (or better) copy. The dust wrapper, designed by Kenneth Farnhill, has some handling marks throughout and some slight creasing to the top and bottom edges. There is some mild bumping to the spine tips and a medium closed tear to the rear panel, measuring 2cm in length. It has not been price clipped and shows the 21s. net price. The green cloth boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are bright, with very minimal foxing present. This copy is free from previous owners ink and is, overall, in very good (or better) condition.
The title of the book comes from Act 4, Scene 1 of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, when the second witch says: “By the pricking of my thumbs,/ Something wicked this way comes.”
