Agatha Christie – A Caribbean Mystery – First UK Edition 1964
£245.00
A first edition, first printing of A Caribbean Mystery by Agatha Christie, published by Collins, London in 1964. A near fine book without inscriptions, slight bumping to spine tips, light browning and spotting to text block. In a very good unclipped wrapper with browning to the spine, chipping to head and foot of the spine, chipping to knuckles of front and rear flap folds, a small biro mark to rear flap fold, with light internal spotting and internal reinforcement tape to spine tips and rear flap fold.
A Caribbean Mystery by Agatha Christie features Miss Marple on a relaxing vacation at a tropical resort, where her sharp instincts are soon needed. An elderly guest, Major Palgrave, starts telling her about a murderer he once knew but abruptly stops. The next day, he’s found dead. Miss Marple, suspecting foul play, investigates and uncovers hidden motives, lies and past crimes among the vacationers. The novel showcases Christie’s hallmark twists and Miss Marple’s keen powers of observation.
