A first edition, first printing published by Gollancz in 1953. A very good book, bound in the green cloth lettered gilt to the spine which is faded as usual. The text block is slightly toned and spotted but is without inscriptions, marks etc. The dust wrapper is the original and is not price clipped, with minor nicks and short closed tears to the edges as well as an archival repair to a closed tear on the rear panel and one to the top edge of the front panel. The Author’s first novel.
